When the Columbus Blue Jackets hit the ice on Monday night in their home opener against the Detroit Red Wings they will do it with a new partner, Pointstreak 5050.  The Blue Jackets Foundation is working with Pointstreak 5050 to breathe new life into their traditional 50/50 raffle, build more excitement for the fans and generate more charitable proceeds to be invested back into the Columbus community.  Gone are the days of the traditional roll of tickets, replaced by a system that prints the tickets in real-time and displays the growing pot instantly.  5050 raffle tickets will be sold at fixed stations throughout the arena and also from mobile sellers who will be selling up until the start of the 3rd period.

The Blue Jackets Foundation saw the success that other teams across professional sports were having using Pointstreak 5050 and decided this was a natural fit for Nationwide Arena.  “We’re very excited about implementing the Pointstreak 5050 system at Blue Jackets games this upcoming hockey season.  It is a proven platform, particularly among the hockey crowd,” said Jen Bowden, executive director of the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation.  “Transitioning to a digital system and adopting the Pointstreak 5050 platform will help our non-profit partners exponentially increase their fundraising and the automation of the program will also make the purchase process more convenient than ever for fans.”

Kevin Lovitt, President of Pointstreak 5050 added, “We too are very proud of our part in helping to raise funds to help charities throughout the greater Columbus area.  The Blue Jackets and the Blue Jackets Foundation are going to be tremendous partners with Pointstreak 5050 as we open the 2012/13 NHL season and continue with the 2013 NHL All Star game here in Columbus.  More than the excitement we provide during the game, 5050’s greatest achievement is the people that we help outside the arena.  We are truly proud to be a member of the Blue Jackets team.”
