Royals charities partner with Heart to Heart & American Red Cross for tornado relief efforts
Royals Charities, the charitable arm of the Kansas City Royals, has announced its support of local relief efforts for Moore, Okla., after it was hit by a devastating tornado on Monday with a $10,000 donation to Heart to Heart International, an emergency response organization based in Olathe, Kan.
In addition, the Royals will host fundraising efforts during the club's upcoming home series against the Los Angeles Angels set for Thursday, May 23-Sunday, May 26. All in-stadium fundraising will be directed to the American Red Cross.
Royals fans may help with the relief efforts through the following initiatives.
50/50 Raffles: Royals Charities will earmark the proceeds from the 50/50 Raffle held during each game of the Angels series to the Kansas City Chapter of the American Red Cross.
In-Stadium Collections: American Red Cross volunteers will be collecting cash donations at the Royals Charities Headquarters located on the third base side of the KIA Diamond Club on the Field/Plaza Level during each day of the Angels series.
Text to Donate: Fans may also help immediately by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Fans may also visit www.redcross.org or call 1-800-REDCROSS.
