Royals Charities Ramp Up In-Stadium Fundraiser With Pointstreak 5050
When the Kansas City Royals take the field for their first home game of the 2013 MLB season, they will do so with a new partner
Pointstreak 5050. Royals Charities and Pointstreak 5050 are teaming together on an innovative platform to raise funds for the Kansas City community and region through a new, automated 5050 raffle at Kauffman Stadium. Gone are the old 50/50 Fridays, in which Royals volunteers manually sold raffle tickets by hand. The new Pointstreak 5050 system enables tickets to be sold every game through automated devices. Jackpot totals are also displayed in real time on Crown Vision, LED ribbons and monitors throughout Kauffman Stadium.
"Our 50/50 Fridays were becoming so popular. It’s a huge win for our fans to get to experience the Pointstreak 5050 system at every game. We’ve seen what the system has done around the league for other teams. Our fans should expect huge jackpots and enjoy the added convenience," said
Toby Cook, VP of Community Affairs & Publicity for the Kansas City Royals. "By utilizing the
Pointstreak 5050 platform,
Royals Charities will exponentially increase our in-game fundraising, allowing us to further support children-based charities in the greater Kanas City area.”
Fans have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets from the time gates open until the end of the sixth inning. One winning ticket will be selected with the winner taking home half of the evening's net proceeds. The other half will be donated to Royals Charities.
Chris Meyer of Pointstreak 5050 added, "The commitment to the local community that the Kansas City Royals display on a daily basis is unparalleled. We are truly proud to be a partner and support the cause. The Royals and Royals Charities are going to be tremendous partners with Pointstreak 5050 as we open the 2013 MLB season. In addition to the added excitement we provide at the ballpark, 5050's most rewarding accomplishment is knowing we help to support those in need throughout the local community.”
