5050 Central & the OHSAA Foundation See Success at the OHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament

Toronto, ON – April 5, 2017: Everybody was a winner at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Boys Basketball State Tournament at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
The tournament, which took place March 23-25, 2017, saw the best high school basketball teams from Ohio compete to win the State Championship in their respective divisions. As always during these events, there are winners not only on the court, but off the court as well.
The OHSAA Foundation used 5050 Central’s digital system to conduct 50/50 raffles during the entire tournament. The mission of the Foundation is to provide leadership and service opportunities for Ohio student-athletes and all funds raised are used to fulfill their mission.
“5050 Central was a great professional partner in our first foray into the world of 50/50 raffles to support the charitable purposes for the Ohio High School Athletic Association Foundation,” said Jeffrey Jordan, Chief Financial Officer of the OHSAA. “Each year the Foundation provides a statewide student leadership conference for more than 1300 student athletes in Ohio and we are able to expand our efforts thanks in great part to the professional expertise of 5050 Central. We couldn't have asked for anyone better to work with!”
The volunteer sellers consisted of girls from the Kappa Delta Sorority of Ohio State, and their tremendous efforts saw close to $17,000 raised during the tournament. Portions of the net raffle proceeds benefitted the OHSAA Foundation, who will also be donating cheques to philanthropies of the sorority including Prevent Child Abuse of America and Girl Scouts of America.
With the philanthropies benefitting from the proceeds and the girls receiving service hours for their voluntary efforts, the experience was worthwhile for everyone involved.
“All in all, I think it was a great experience for the girls and helped us to broaden our horizons within the local community,” said Katie Hosket of the Kappa Delta Sorority.
